2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment information, Social Security numbers, government-issued ID numbers, or precise geolocation data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

KinderTime is designed for use by adults (parents and legal guardians). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13. All information about children entered into the Service is provided by a parent or guardian and is subject to their control.

Information we hold about children is limited to: first name, age, and availability preferences set by the parent or guardian. This information is used solely to facilitate kindertime scheduling and is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

Parents and guardians have the right to: (a) review the information we hold about their child; (b) request deletion of that information; and (c) refuse to permit further collection of their child's information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@kindertime.app. We will respond within 30 days.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Enable kindertime scheduling, booking, and messaging between connected families;
  • Send transactional notifications (booking requests, confirmations, cancellations, and messages);
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Improve and develop the Service.

We do not use your information or your children's information for targeted advertising.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With connected families: when you connect with another family, your household name and your children's first names and availability are visible to that family for scheduling purposes;
  • With service providers: we engage third-party vendors (e.g., email delivery, database hosting) who process data on our behalf under contractual data processing agreements and are prohibited from using it for other purposes;
  • For legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KinderTime, our users, or the public;
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and associated data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

Children's information is deleted when the associated child profile is removed by a parent or guardian, or when the parent's account is deleted.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed authentication credentials, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and you use the Service at your own risk.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. California Residents — CCPA Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to Know: you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
  • Right to Delete: you may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Right to Correct: you may request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: we do not sell personal information;
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@kindertime.app. We will verify your identity before processing requests and respond within 45 days.

9. Your Choices

  • Account information: you may update your name and timezone in Settings at any time;
  • Email notifications: transactional emails (booking confirmations, cancellations, messages) are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be individually opted out of while your account is active;
  • Account deletion: you may delete your account by contacting us at privacy@kindertime.app.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com);
  • Google Calendar API — optional calendar integration, only if you choose to connect your Google account.

These providers have their own privacy policies and data processing terms. We recommend reviewing them independently.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Policy on the Service and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
